20 Inspiring Mantras for Healthy Living - Inner Savvy Wellness

Do you take time to reflect and plan on your life?  Many of us do that at the beginning of the year, but why wait?  Take time now. Go ahead, schedule it on your calendar right now.

It is important to look back and see what is working and what isn’t working. However, do not dwell on the ‘not so good’.  Take what you can from those things and move forward.

I would suggest developing and writing down your priorities that you develop based on this reflection time.  You may want to read Schedule Your Priorities or They Aren’t Priorities? Take a look at all areas of your life.  Know what your priorities are and then make a plan of action by scheduling those priorities into your day.

Let’s talk about your Health.  Stop thinking you are going to do healthy things in order to lose weight. Studies show that isn’t motivating enough.  For a good read on the studies you may want to read, No Sweat: How the Simple Science of Motivation Can Bring You a Lifetime of Fitness by Michelle Segar, Ph. D. A better reason is you want to live a healthy life or you are a healthy person.

In order to get to the point where health is a part of your mindset, you may want to create a mantra or several mantras to say each day.  Repeating mantras helps you internalize your priorities and values.

  1. Nicole says:

Thanks for this Karen. I think these mantras are amazing and something that everyone can benefit from. I’m hoping to focus more on improving my health this year and these are a great start.

    • Karen G says:

Thanks, Shamira, for stopping and by and leaving a comment. So good to know others find mantras to be beneficial to them as well. Keep saying your mantras. 🙂

  2. Beth Niebuhr says:

I hadn’t thought about choosing a mantra. I like the ones about being open to good habits and “My body loves me and is doing its best to be in harmony and balance.” Thank you for all of these ideas, Karen.

  3. Cara says:

I like this and I especially like the part about positivity. When I see people who exercise and eat healthy and they are happy and have a positive outlook, it inspires me to do better in my own life. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I love them all. One of the things that impresses me about the list is that the verbs are all present tense — telling your brain that you already have what you want — and that the language focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. I tell my clients, “Imagine your subconscious is a dog. When you tell it ‘no treat,’ what does it hear?” Super list.

  5. patricemfoster says:

These are all great Mantras to recite I especially like I am worthy of good health…will be saying this daily thanks for sharing.

    • Karen G says:

I am so glad you will. Too many of us do not really believe we are worthy of good health. But we are. Our bodies are wonderfully made to be in balance which means health.

    • Karen G says:

Love that you picked those 2. I really do think we can sabotage ourselves with thinking we aren’t worthy of being healthy or that our body just is broken. To health to you in 2016.

  6. What a great list Karen. I have “done” resolutions before and depending on what they are… they usually get forgotten.. lol My weight is ALWAYS a struggle but I work at it, workout every day, eat fairly right… that’s the struggle part and well… this year.. I haven’t made any commitments to “change” anything. For my biz, I always strive to improve and get bigger and better, work smarter not harder, make more money w/o taking away my time for me/family.. but it’s still new, so I’m getting there.

  7. Elizabeth O. says:

A positive attitude is definitely important to bring with you during the New Year. I love these mantras, they are very motivating.

  8. Tisha says:

Thanks for sharing these mantras Karen! One of the most important resolution that I have for this coming year is to focus more on my health and to live a healthier life. These mantras are great motivation for me. Thank you for sharing these.

  9. Rosey says:

I don’t have any resolutions set. I do have some big priorities though, and I intend to have fun meeting those goals. 🙂 Happy New Year to you!

    • Karen G says:

Best of wishes in achieving all of your priorities on a daily basis. Break them down so they are small for each day and before you know it, you will have a long list of habits you created and things you accomplished. Happy New Year.

  10. Fitnessmomwinecountry says:

Karen, I am new to the blog. I can relate to these Mantras for sure. Love them. If I had to come up with another … {these are all so great} I guess “I am a fit and healthy mom who is a great inspiration to her kids”. Happy New Year 🙂

  11. The Pramshed says:

This is great, and yes I often reflect on next years goals and promises during the downtime between Christmas and New Year. Your post has inspired me to be better about the way I eat and exercise, especially at the moment as I suffering from tonsillitus. Claire x #BrilliantBlogPosts

    • Karen says:

Claire, sorry you have tonsillitis. After having mono at 19, I have had tonsils issues most of my life, however, I rarely have any flare ups now since my gut has been healing. Have you tried Viracid by Ortho Molecular. It is an antivirus herbal that might help you get over it faster.

  12. Jess says:

Really great ideas here. I’m all about positivity! I find being positive can really make a huge difference to a day just by changing your thoughts.

Thanks for sharing, I’m definitely going to try some of these ☺
