Schedule Your Health Priorities or They Aren’t Priorities

Is health a priority to you? If so, then schedule healthy activities as priorities, don’t let them get lost among all of your tasks.

Do not prioritize your schedule, or your priorities will get lost.

Do you have a to-do list?  Is it in your head?  Written on a piece of paper? Do you use an app? Does your calendar hold your to-do’s?

We all keep a to-do list. Whether it is in our heads, written or typed, we all have things to do.

Some experts will say to take out your to-do list before you go to bed and prioritize your schedule for the next day, putting the most important things on top to do first thing in the morning. Maybe this is sound advise.

But the problem is that most of us do not put our health on our to-do list.  If it isn’t there, then it won’t be scheduled in to your day.  You won’t get to the healthy to-dos.

Why aren’t healthy activities to-do’s on your list?  Are they a priority? If they are, then take Stephen Covey’s words of advise and schedule your priorities.

Create a Priority List to Schedule Your Priorities

Keep your to-do list somewhere.  It is critical to know what you need to do, but I would suggest creating a priority list. What is important to you?

Watching Tv

Whatever is on your list, (I hope watching tv is not, and health is.) make sure you schedule your priorities into your day first.  I am not saying you have to do them all first, but before you schedule anything else, schedule your priorities first.  Then, you can take out your to-do list and add in 2 or 3 top activities that need to be done during the day.  Once you know when you will pray, spending time with your spouse, meditate, workout, plan a healthy meal, or any other priority, you can relax and know your physical, mental, and spiritual health are truly priorities.

You will not only ensure that your priorities are a part of your day, you will also feel more confident about making sure what is important to you gets done.

Do you? Do you schedule in your priorities?  If not, then your priorities are no longer priorities. They get lost in the crazy, hectic schedule you have.

Will you take the challenge? Tonight, write out your priorities.  When you have your priorities straight, take out your schedule for tomorrow and schedule activities into your day to ensure, your priorities remain your priorities. Your life will feel more in control and you will be more content.

    This is such a great idea! I’ll have to write down my priorities, I don’t think I’ve ever actually put it down like that but I can see how that would be so helpful. Thanks for this!

      Glad to help. Make sure you think through what is your one or two top priorities in all the areas of health from diet, physical activity, sleep, relaxation, etc. Then narrow it down even further. Too many priorities and they are no longer priorities.
